Kennedy's Playdate

Well I watched 3 children on Wednesday and guess what? I am still here to tell you about it ;)

My friend Leah (who was in the room when Kennedy was born) called me on Sunday and asked me if I could watch her two boys on Wednesday for a few hours while she attended a work meeting.  Her husband works out of town so she was in a crunch. Normally I am a little hesitant to watch 3 children at once when I know I have no chance at reinforcements (Andy couldn't leave work) but I was a few bottles glasses of wine in, so I was feeling a little brave and agreed.
It doesn't hurt that the boys are absolutely adorable.

So Wednesday came and I timed it out p-e-r-f-e-c-t if I do say so myself. I put Kennedy down for her morning nap at about 10:45 and the boys arrived at 11.  Oscar (will be 3 next month) and Abe (who is 10 months). We played. We snacked. We played some more. Then Kennedy woke up.

I am not going to lie. I was nervous. Kennedy doesn't really play with kids. Something we have been trying to get her more used to. She isn't mean or anything, she just wants to play by herself. She took a little while to get used to the boys, she buried her head into my shoulder for about 20 minutes and then warmed up. After that?

They were the best of friends. Her and Oscar ran together, played peek-a-boo, danced, called eachother on the phone. It was love at first second sight.

They ended up leaving around four. She was so sad to see them go and we can't wait to have them back over to play soon.

Now that that's out of the way, we are excited to see how she does tomorrow evening at our block party. There will be TONS of kids there. We're crossing our fingers ;)
