Picky Eater

I think I have the world's most picky eater.

Kennedy LOVES food. But she only loves to snack/graze.
It is like pulling teeth from a camel to get her to eat an actual meal.
Her self-approved foods consist of fruit strips, fruit snacks (natural homemade ones) crackers, berries, turkey bacon, cereal and bread/toast. I try to get her to eat oatmeal, eggs (sometimes successful), full dinners, yogurt, pasta, anything that I think will help fill her up better but she fights it... so hard. I just wish she would realize that she would actually like it if she tried. She won't even give me the satisfaction of trying most of the time.
We spend 2 hours trying to get her to eat all of her food.

Does anyone have any recommendation of how to get a 2 year old to eat?? I know that they will go through a stage of being stubborn but it is so disheartening when I feel like we make zero progress. She just won't budge and it is more about trying to get her way.

I need some mama advice. We are heading to Disney next month and I am not about to pack a bag FULL of snacks to keep her full throughout the day while we are out and about.

Please tell me there is hope for us yet....

We have a similar problem, and sometimes I spend hours fighting and worrying. But I have the most success when I just ignore it. Put the food on Laura's plate, give her however long we take to eat our (exact same) meal, then warn that she can't have anything else if she gets up. No bedtime snacks, no treats, nothing. Sometimes she doesn't eat, and even if it bothers me, it doesn't bother her. So I guess maybe she's just not hungry!

Ari had the same issue. She wasn't eating at meal time and wanted to snack all day. We simply had to cut out snacks. She has gotten much better, because she is actually hungry at mealtime!

oh my dear- I feel for you sooooo much!! Julianna is the WORST eater ever- the pediatrician even made threats...no joke. she only eats plain pasta, plain cereal (cherrios), plain crackers, bread, and the occasional cookie. It is pathetic. I can help you try to get her to eat better if you want- I got some great recipes online that I've tried and now Kelsey is obsessed with broccoli and cauliflower- go figure! hugs love!!
